Interview: Kenny Boucher, daemons (second place 2011 Feast of Blades)

\
Hey everyone, today we have a very cool interview with an outstanding player/painter and good buddy of mine: Kenny Boucher.  Kenny is a long standing member of the Wrecking Crew and has many laurels in his hat including: Second at the Feast of Blades Invitational 2011, 2 consecutive years of qualifying for the Invitational, 1st place at ATC team Championships, 1st place at the Adepticon Team Tournament.  Without further ado, here is the interview, I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Why did you decide that list, wasn't it ballsy to bring a daemons list
with the current GK heavy meta?
I prefer assault armies, and my entire 40k philosophy is to engage and kill models.
Sometimes the mission means that I cant do that until the later turns. Either way eff a Grey Knight army!

  1. What are the bad pairings for you and your list?
I don’t really think I have too many bad match ups. Aside from dark excommunication. If I play to the mission I usually can win, and anytime I lose its probably because my opponent did a better job.

  1. As someone who is competing at a National level with Daemons, do you think the list or the player is more important?
Its defiantly the player. The list is a close 2nd though.

5. What were your overall feelings on Feast of Blades?
The event was extremely fun, and well run.

6. The Meta-philes on the internet say that Daemons and Black Templar shouldn't be on top tables.  What are your thoughts on this?
I think that the people who say that are correct...”they” cant get the Daemons or Templar to top tables...only SW and GK armies.

7.  In game six you pulled out a very slick win against Goatboy and his Paladin-star, can you tell us a little about what was going on in your head during that game?
I knew I had one chance to win. Boon mutation on Coteaz. Fateweaver can usually survive a turn of shooting and he has an 18 inch range with the attack. Its like a 50/50. Once he lost dark excommunication I knew I could win. If I failed the mutation I lost!

8. With the new Necron codex out how will you change your list/ tactics?
No...haha

9. Your models are dead sexy (Almost as dead sexy as the Feast TO) can you tell us about your painting service?
Next Level Painting specializes in commission painting of complete war games miniature armies in a timely, friendly, and reliable manner. We emphasize a commitment to consistent top-tier quality for every model painted. Our style utilizes airbrush effects to achieve smooth blending and highlighting throughout the models. We also add weathering accents, crisp detailing, and shadowing as part of our distinctive style. 1. Anything else?
I guess...stop playing gay-ass MSU armies and start actually embracing the hobby. Add your own style and personality to list design!

  1. Yo Kenny stop playing gay ass Deathstar armies like Fatecrusher that are designed to completely overwhelm your oppponent hahahaha

Try something tactical like just a bunch of units(MSU) that don't all have sick special rules ;p

Maybe I should do that as well but I enjoy my Purifier/Henchman list too much to play anything else.
