Notes:

Well, I like this list.  In my experience Lone Wolves mess with Grey Knights almost more than any unit in this codex because they don't have anything that can always get through that pair of 2+, 3++, 4+ FNP 2 wounds Lone Wolves running straight at them.  You would be surprised how many times I have tried to kill these guys with psycannons and failed.  Killing them sucks cause the opponent gets a KP but letting the live sucks cause then they punch your psiflemen dreads... I hate lone wolves when I play GK.

I like the one squad with 5 guys plus Rune Priest and Wolf Guard, it is a great mid field unit.  Too many times people want to sit the rune priest back which a smart opponent will let you since it leaves his runic weapon out of play until late game.  Bring him forward and claim a no-mans-land-objective. Plus, it isn't a bad combat unit either with 2 power weapons and MOTW.

The Long Fangs are pretty standard, no comments there.

Lastly, the Thunder Cav. I like the Saga of the majesty, it is really key to not have that unit running away the first time it is asked to make a LD check.  I would love to see that Lord running with Saga of the Warrior born, but majesty just makes more sense.  Any good Thundercav unit has to have a Bear Lord, he is what scares your opponent the most, lord knows my paladins hate him!  This unit is a cruise missile, don't forget it.  Some people like to dance around with the Cavalry, don't! Charge right in and have them kill something nasty and then die.  If your Thundercav live through the whole game you either aren't trying hard enough or you need better opponents... They are shock troops.

You win games on the Backs of Grey Hunters, use the Thundercav to make your opponent forget this... Moving them nonchalantly around the board for objective grabbing while the Lone Wolves and Thunder Cav go screaming at their lines.

All in all this is a good list and can win a lot of games, maybe Ill do a battle report against it (haven't done a BatRep in a while!)

  1. Looks like an interesting list. Going to study it further for comment later.

You may want to update the first paragraph to be 2+/3+, you have 2+/4+ (old storm shield save).

  2. The 4+ was in reference to FNP... I forgot to mention the 3++ SS save, lol.

  3. I like this list and have made a similar list but have 3 questions about some of options you used.

    1. About Saga of Majesty with your wolf lord wouldn't both your lords be riding your T-Cav anyway so you could use his leadership and even with your grey hunters you have WG and the rune priest for leadership boost. If you dropped the saga you could squeeze in either WTN or anyone power weapon in your third GH squad w/ rune priest you could also drop your second lord with frostblade to s WGBL and add more upgrades to some of your squads.

    2. I don't have any experience using lone wolves but for the same amount of points you can get a 5 men squad of wolf scouts with melta gun and use them like sheep dogs to herd the enemy into better shooting/charge lanes.

    3. Is how come you don't use wolf standards?

  4. 1. Saga of the majesty is one of those things that you hope you never have to use but when you do it is immensely helpful. Even if you were to drop it I wouldn't add a wolfguard to the rear squad. Why do you need an expensive dude with power weapons and all that sitting in the back doing nothing? If the enemy has gotten through to that rearguard things went really bad.

    2. Wolf Scouts are something that could be used instead of the Lone Wolves. If I were to take out the Lone Wolves scouts would be first on my list... It is more of a style preference I suppose, both have their merits.

    3. He should be using Wolf Standards.

  5. When I said swapping SoM for a power weapon on your grey hunter squad with rune priest was because you mentioned your how you were going to use them more in the mid field role so you could take advantage of there runic weapons against pyskers. But you could just give one of your thunderwolves it instead.
