My thoughts:  Yesterday I played this list twice.  Once with my own Paladin/Driago star and once with an older grey hunter build.  Against my Grey Knights this list just couldn't stand up to the paladins.  At one point my Paladins were assaulted by 5 Th/ss termies a LIbby w/ SS and 10 assault marines all with a priest in support.  The Paladins made short work of the group, we then did the combat over but without psychotroke (for fun) and the Paladins still won combat by a decent number of kills.  The rest of the list just melted under the combined fire of my list.  In the game where I played wolves this list shined a little more but got bogged down after having to slug through 36 grey hunters.  while it was able to disable a number of my tanks it had a lot to do with me playing wolves for the first time and not 100% understanding the wolf army.  Also, the wolf army didn't have anything like lone wolves or Termies to fall back on and actually had very little power weapons so it was hard to kill anything.  That said the Wolves pulled out a draw and had we had enough time to finish the game it could have even been a win for the wolves.

Anyhow, after my experiences with it I see a few things:
- The list cannot handle deathstars.  It needs a Sanguinor/ Mephiston to really help it out some in that area, or just throw the ENITRE army at the deathstars.
- Too many single lascannons. Lascannons are great when you are rolling hot but in the end it is only ever going to be one roll on the damage chart, and if you aren't rolling well it is going to be a long day.
- Very mobile, as with all blood angel armies this list gets tons of side armor shots and the like, which can be frustrating for guard players in particular who rely on their front av 12.
- Possibly drop one of the 5 man razorbacks and a few other things for something like 10 regular assault marines with jump packs (190 points plus misc stuff.) Or even exchange the Lascannon for an assault cannon so you aren't tempted to hold it in the back field for so long.

All in all this list performed much better against the wolves in rhinos than against my Paladins, but then again I have a lot more experience with Paladins and made some foolish mistakes with the Wolves.

I would likely have a very different looking army if I were to pull out my angels again, but in all honesty this player knows what he is doing with his list and plays it very very well, which is what gives this list its strength.  It is also pretty flexible and can send out an answer for most situations.

Lets hear it, what are your thoughts on this list?

  1. I think exchanging the lascannons for assault cannons is a good idea as well. Assault cannons are more likely to slag heavy armor anyway and are much more of a threat to infantry.

I think another priest to assist the Terminators might be a good idea as well. I've found that Terminators draw a ton of small arms fire when there are a good amount of armored targets available. People don't want to "waste" those high strength low AP shots on infantry.

  2. Why TL las on the predators? Las sponsons makes more sense to me.
Why TL las on RB's? Las/TL plas is better.
    Why assault marines in rhino's?

  3. Hmm...
I don't really think meltabombs pair well with sanguinary priests.

  4. Good point, usually Sang Priests should just stay on the bus unless they are forced out.
